SISTERHOOD

Teine TU Mālosi

Sisterhood TTM mentoring, creates a safe space for positive relationships for our local young girls ages 11- 18 years old. It is designed to address the challenges our young women face in society. This includes support and guidance from trained youth practitioners, and opportunities to develop relationships, skills and tools to maintain positive mental health.

Sisterhood mentoring provides a safe and supportive space to foster a sense of belonging and self-worth. A great opportunity for our young women to unlock their potential and be amongst strong and creative female youth impact navigators.

Every Wednesday during the Term: 5pm – 7pm

WHEN: March 4, 2022 - 6:00 pm

Every year at GHM we host a community fiafia evening celebrating our local Pacific Families and Culture!  But what are actually fiafia nights? Fiafia means gathering or celebration, and local groups perform and showcase their amazing talent in traditional dancing, singing and even cooking. Fiafia evenings in Puketāpapa are carefully woven with the Poly Embrace initiative where our local youth navigators facilitate and deliver our own designed pacific model alongside our cultural advisory team.

Creative Minds

WHEN: February 21, 2022

21st - 25th February 2022 Adapting to change can be difficult, but when young creative minds come together there is a spark in the room!  This space attracts ideas, colors and methods to problem solving and project planning that will support our communities. With the fear and stress of this global crisis, there are plenty of silver linings to be found and being creative, having the right mindset and knowing we are all in this together helped our creative team achieve many projects.

This creative team will research what is happening locally and around the world, contributing to challenges and barriers our youth and families face today.  It then goes into a process of project planning using creative arts (songs, rap, short film, cooking videos etc) to deliver mini stories to inspire others.
